Biden Withdraws From US Presidential Race, Supports Kamala Harris to Fight Donald Trump

President Joe Biden announced to step down from the 2024 race to the White House. After his withdrawal from the electoral fight, he backed Vice President Kamala Harris for the contest.

In a statement on X, Kamala Harris said, she was “honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.”

Now speculations are on regarding who could be her Vice President pick. Among the names doing the rounds is Arizona Senator Mark Kelly.

US President Joe Biden said that he is not seeking re-election in the “best interest” of the party and the country. Biden said he will speak to the nation later this week in more detail about his decision.

“And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term. I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision,” Biden stated in a letter posted on X.

The US presidential elections are just four months away.

Several key leaders of the Democratic Party called for Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race following his poor debate performance against Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump.
