Bike-Borne Assailants Stab College Student to Death in Rayagada

Rayagada: A college student named Pramod Kalka was allegedly stabbed to death by three bike-borne armed assailants in the Rayagada district on Friday.

The deceased was the nephew of the former Zilla Parishad president of Rayagada, Gangadhar Puala. He was returning home on a scooter after dropping his cousin at school when he was stopped by the three bike-borne miscreants. The trio attacked him with sharp weapons and he died on the spot. The assailants managed to escape from the spot.

Police have started an investigation into this broad-daylight murder.

Some locals suspect it may be linked to some political enmity. It is alleged that Pramod and his uncle Gangadhar had received death threats.
