Bomb Threat For Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo Flight Found to Be A Hoax

New Delhi: A Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo flight received a bomb threat at Delhi airport on Tuesday morning. A detailed check of the plane proved that the bomb threat was a hoax.

According to the IGI Airport authorities, the bomb threat was received at around 5 am. The threat was related to a piece of paper found in the lavatory of the IndiGo flight scheduled to depart for Varanasi. The paper bore the writing, ‘[email protected]’.

Immediately Following the standard security protocols, a thorough inspection of the flight was conducted. But the police found nothing suspicious on the flight.

According to airline officials, this IndiGo flight has 176 passengers onboard. As part of the protocol, the aircraft was taken to a remote bay by airport security agencies. All passengers were evacuated through the emergency exits.

A similar incident happened on May 16, when a tissue paper, with the word “bomb” written on it, was found in the Air India flight AI819 lavatory at Delhi airport. The security personnel after the thorough check found that it was a hoax.
