Civic Body Demolishes Jagan Reddy Party’s Central Office In Guntur

Guntur: The under-construction central office of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the Tadepalli area of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh was demolished by the local municipal authorities in the early hours of Saturday. It was alleged to be an illegal construction.

Authorities of Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) began the demolition of the structure at around 5:30 am. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had issued notice to the YSRCP over the alleged illegal construction.

The YSRCP had approached the High Court on Friday, challenging the CRDA order.

According to CRDA and MTMC officials, the YSRCP central office was being built on the land of the irrigation department, which was being used for a boatyard. It was allegedly taken on lease for a small amount.

It is also alleged that the YSRCP started the construction without taking approvals from CRDA and MTMC.

Former chief minister and YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has condemned the action by the TDP-led government. In his post on ‘X’, terming it to be a political vendetta by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
