Class 10 Student Ends Life for Mobile Phone in Khurda Dist

Bhubaneswar: A class 10 student was found hanging from a tree on the school premises of Seventh-Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Odisha’s Khurda district, on Friday.

It is alleged that he took the drastic step after the school principal confiscated his mobile phone on Thursday.

The deceased youngster was from the Gajapati district and he was staying in the hostel of the school.

According to school authorities, hostel inmates are barred from keeping mobile phones with them. But the said student had allegedly kept a mobile phone with him.

On Thursday night, the principal of the school could trace out the mobile phone secretly kept by the student and took it away.

On receiving the information about this unnatural death, a police team from Khurda Sadar police station reached the spot. The body was seized and sent for post mortem. Investigation has started to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.
