Congress Announces Candidates for 2 LS, 8 Assembly Seats in Odisha, Sofia Firdaus Named for Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The Congress announced its new list of candidates for two Lok Sabha and eight Assembly seats in Odisha. Two candidates for the earlier declared Lok Sabha seats were replaced. Sofia Firdous was named as the MLA candidate for the Cuttack-Barabati assembly constituency.

As per this new list, the Congress has named Nagendra Pradhan in place of Dulal Chandra Pradhan for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency. The party fielded Suresh Mohapatra for Cuttack Parliamentary seat in place of Panchanan Kanungo, who contested from there in the 2019 elections.

In its list of candidates for the Assembly seats, the party has also made two replacements. It has nominated Pramod Hembram in place of Badal Hembram for Baripada seat while Baijayantimala Mohanty has replaced Manoj Pradhan in Khandapada.

Sofia Firdous, the daughter of sitting MLA Md Moquim was named for the Cuttack-Barabati seat.
