Couple Ends Life by Electrocution in Balasore District

Balasore: A couple committed suicide by electrocution at Parbatipur village under the Simulia police station limits in Balasore district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Manoj Mahakud (32) and his wife Sasmita Mahakud(28). The bodies were found in their bedroom when the family broke open the door as no one responded from inside.

According to reports, Manoj and Sasmita committed suicide after having their lunch. In the late afternoon, the sister and brother-in-law of Sasmita came to their house. When no one responded to their repeated knocks and calls, they broke the door and entered the room to find them dead. Naked electric wire was wrapped around the necks of both bodies.

The couple is suspected of committing suicide by electrocution. Police are investigating the reason behind their drastic step. Both bodies have been sent for postmortem.
