CRPF Jawan Martyred, 6 Security Personnel Injured in 2 Encounters with Terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar: In two overnight encounters with terrorists in kathua and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, a CRPF jawan was martyred and six other security personnel were wounded.

In Doda district, five personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles and a special police officer (SPO) were injured when terrorists attacked a joint check post on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road.

According to reports, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan named Kabir Dass was critically injured by the gunfire by a terrorist in Kathua district’s Saida Sukhal village at around 3 am. The soldier succumbed to injuries at a hospital.

The terrorist rounded up by the security forces opened indiscriminate fire to escape at the Saida Sukhal village, over 60 km from Jammu.

Terrorists attacked the village on Tuesday evening and injured a civilian. During a subsequent search operation, one terrorist was killed and efforts were on to nab the other terrorist suspected to be from across the border.

The two overnight incidents come just days after terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra causing death of nine people and injuries to 41 others.

In Doda, terrorists fired on a joint check post of the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police at Chattergalla area on Tuesday night. The exchange of fire continued for long. Five Rashtriya Rifles personnel and an SPO were injured in the encounter.
