Crude Bomb Blast Injures 7 in Diwali Morning Group Clash in Nayagarh Dist

Nayagarh: Seven people were injured as two warring groups hurled crude bombs at each other in the Harijan Sahi area under Khadpada police station limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Sunday morning.

Two were critically injured. They were identified as Ranjit Nayak and Duhsasana Nayak. Both injured were shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, past rivalry between the families of Ranjit and Duhsasana led to this violent incident.

On Sunday morning,  Duhsasana allegedly made some derogatory remarks at Ranjit. Irked by it Ranjit and his supporters hurled crude bombs at their rivals.

One of the crude bombs exploded injuring seven villagers.

On being informed, a team from Khadpada police station rushed to the village to take the situation under control.

The injured were transported to the hospital at Gania. Later, two critically injured were shifted to Capital Hospital for treatment.
