Cyclonic Formation to Trigger Heavy Rains in Odisha from Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. Because of it, widespread rains and heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Odisha from July 19 to 22, predicted MeT office.

This cyclonic formation is expected to make monsoons more active in Odisha. Heavy rains are to continue in Odisha till July 22.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning to six districts in south Odisha. Some coastal and interior parts of Odisha are likely to expect heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 20.

The heaviest downpour is expected on July 21, with rainfall ranging from 7 cm to 20 cm in some areas.

This monsoon season so far Odisha has experienced 20 percent less than the expected average rainfall.
