Drinking Water Supply Hit in SCB Med College Hospital Adding to Woes of Patients

Cuttack: Patients and their attendants at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack suffered due to the disruption of the drinking water supply on the campus on Monday.

As per reports, the drinking water supply to most wards of the hospital stopped from Sunday night.

The water supply was resumed to a few wards in the morning. However, the patients complained that the amount of water supplied was insufficient.

According to Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) officials, this problem occurred as a water pipe burst. Normal water supply was restored after repair of the damaged pipe.

On Saturday, because of power failure doctors had to administer injections to several patients at the hospital using mobile phone’s torch light. Power supply was snapped to the Anatomy Department, morgue, Dermatology Department, Medicine Department, Spinal Injury Centre and Laundry Plant of the hospital.

Though power was later supplied with Diesel Generator (DG), ceiling fans didn’t function in many wards.
