Elderly Couple Killed in Accident on Way to Meet Ailing Grandson  

Cuttack: An elderly couple died after their bike was hit by a speeding vehicle in Athargarh of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday.

They had come to Athagarh to see their ailing grandson admitted to the Athagarh hospital. It was cruel turn of fate as their bodies were brought to the same hospital where the couple was heading to visit their grandson.

As per initial reports, the deceased couple hailed from Jhumpudia of Dhenkanal district. They were traveling on a bike, when a speeding car hit them near the cold storage in Chirugudia.

Locals rushed the injured duo to the Athargarh hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

A case has been registered by the police and an investigation is underway.
