Five Killed, 5 Injured After Their Car Crashes to Tree in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Five persons of a family died and five others, including two children, were injured when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside tree in the early morning of Saturday in Giridh district of Jharkhand.

The victims were returning home in a Scorpio car after attending a wedding feast in Tikodih, Giridih. The accident took place around 3 am near Baghmara village in the district.

The car was completely damaged in the collision. According to locals involved in the rescue of the people in the ill-fated car, five persons died on the spot.

According to police sources, the occupants in the car had come from Thoria village to attend the wedding at Tikodih.

It is suspected that the accident occurred as the driver dozed off.
