Former Odisha Minister Bimbadhar Kuanr Rejoins BJP, Slams BJD in Political Turnaround

Bhubaneswar: Former Minister and Bhatli MLA Bimbadhar Kuanr made headlines today as he returned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fold in Odisha. Kuanr’s re-entry into the saffron camp marks a significant political move, especially considering his departure from the party in 2014, citing neglect, to join the ruling BJD.

In a ceremony held at the party office in Bhubaneswar and graced by state unit president Manmohan Samal, Kuanr officially rejoined the BJP. His return was not without strong words against the BJD, as he criticized the ruling party’s alleged mismanagement of funds and highlighted past donations from mine owners in the State.

Joining Kuanr in switching allegiances were notable figures from the region. Woman leader from Sambalpur, Nibedita Nayak, and youth leader Saroj Bhuyan also bid farewell to the ruling BJD to embrace the BJP.

Hailing from Western Odisha’s Bargarh district, Kuanr brings with him a wealth of political experience. He previously served as the president of the Odisha BJP and had been elected twice from the Bhatli Assembly constituency seat on a BJP ticket in 2000 and 2004.
