New Delhi: Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir left IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants to Get back to Kolkata Knight Riders. As KKR captain Gambhir has won two IPL titles.
KKR’s CEO Venky Mysore announced Gambhir’s decision on Wednesday. Now Gambhir will take up the role of a mentor of KKR, co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan.
King Khan welcomed Gambhir’s decision, calling it the ‘return of their captain’.
Gambhir served as LSG’s mentor for two years, helping them reach the final in the IPL 2022 edition. In 2023, LSG finished third in the league standings but couldn’t qualify for the final.
He announced his departure from Lucknow through an emotional post on X.

In another post, Gambhir revealed that he has rejoined the Knight Riders.
