IPL2023: Hefty Fine on KKR Skipper Nitish Rana & Team For Slow Over-Rate

New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana was fined Rs 24 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai.

It was KKR team’s second slow over-rate offence in the current season. So, as per the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Nitish Rana was fined Rs. 24 lakh and each member of the Playing XI, including the impact substitute, was fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of the match fee, whichever is lesser, stated an IPL media statement.

KKR won this match by six wickets to remain in the race for a play-off berth. CSK are second in the standings and are expected to finish in the top-four.
