Nayagarh: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted gold and cash from the recently Inaugurated Ram Temple on the Giri-Govardhan hill at Fategarh in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Tuesday night.

The loot came to the fore when the temple priest on Monday morning discovered the main door of the temple being open, with the donation box completely emptied.

It is alleged that the miscreants broke open the main door and looted the donation box containing gold, silver jewellery, and cash.

Receiving information from the temple committee, police have reached the spot for investigation. It is estimated that the cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupes was stolen from the temple.

This new Ram Temple in Fategarh was inaugurated on January 22. Its inauguration coincided with the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
