Goods Train Derails Near Kantabanji in Balangir Dist

Balangir: Four wagons of a goods train derailed near Kantabanji railway station in Balangir district on Friday night. This derailment disrupted railway traffic on the route for some hours.

Because of this derailment, Raipur-Titilagarh and Junagarh Road-Raipur Express trains were cancelled on Saturday.

The derailed goods train was coming from Raipur in Chhattisgarh.

No injuries or casualties have been reported in the accident. The technical staff of the railways reached the spot and repaired the track on a war footing fro resumption of the train communication on the route.

According to the East Coast Railway (ECoR) authorities, the train services on the stretch, where a goods train had derailed, in Sambalpur Division was restored at around 7 am on Saturday.

The derailment occurred near the Kantabanji railway station at around 10.50 pm on Friday.
