Hezbollah Walkie-Talkie Blasts Death Toll Rises to 20; Wider Conflict With Israel Feared

At least 20 persons have already died and more than 450 others are injured in the blasts that occurred in the walkie-talkies, solar equipment and other electronic devices used by the Iran-supported Hezbollah on Wednesday across the southern part of Lebanon.

These blasts happened a day after thousands of pagers used by the militants of Hezbollah exploded simultaneously in Lebanon and Syria, claiming the lives of 12 people and injuring around 3,000 others.

The walkie-talkie explosions happened at the Hezbolalh strongholds in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut and the Bekaa Valley.

Reports added that solar energy systems exploded at homes in Beirut.

Hezbollah alleged that Israel was behind these explosions and threatened serious retaliation against the Jewish nation.

On Wednesday, Hezbollah announced three strikes in northern Israel. One of them happened just after the walkie-talkie blasts.
