Indian Consulate in Dubai Launches Helpline Numbers as Unprecedented Rains Batter UAE

Dubai: Heavy rains lashed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, causing widespread disruption and leaving Dubai’s busy International Airport submerged. The deluge, the heaviest ever recorded in the desert nation, overwhelmed drainage systems and flooded neighbourhoods, businesses, and major highways.

The Indian consulate in Dubai has launched helpline numbers to assist Indian citizens and stranded passengers affected by the extreme weather conditions. The helpline numbers, +971501205172, +971569950590, +971507347676, and +971585754213, are available 24/7 for weather-related emergencies.

The consulate is working closely with UAE authorities and airlines to facilitate the repatriation of stranded passengers. Regular updates from airlines are being shared with travellers, and the consulate is collaborating with Indian community organizations to provide relief measures.

By Tuesday evening, Dubai had received over 142 millimetres (5.59 inches) of rain in just 24 hours, exceeding the average annual rainfall for the city. Other regions in the UAE experienced even higher precipitation.
