Indian-origin astronaut Captain Sunita Williams will fly into space once again aboard a brand-new spacecraft, the Boeing Starliner.

The liftoff will be from the Kennedy Space Center on May 7, 2024, at 8.04 am India time.

While training at the launch pad, Williams said, “When I reach the International Space Station, it will be like going back home.”

The 59-year-old Sunita Williams will create history by being the first woman to fly on a maiden mission of a new human-rated spacecraft.

According to NASA, Sunita has spent a total of 322 days in space.

For this space flight, NASA Astronaut Sunita L. Williams underwent training to be the pilot of the Crew Flight Test mission aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. It will be her third space mission and the first crewed flight for Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams will lift off aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket and dock at the orbiting laboratory, where they will stay for about a week.
