Inebriated Driver Crushes Couple Near Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A drunk driver, while reversing his car crushed a couple to death near the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar on Diwali night.

The ill-fated couple from Digapahandi in Ganjam district was selling diyas and puja items for Diwali near the parking place of the Lingaraj temple.

The woman died on the spot and her husband died while undergoing treatment in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

The couple was first transported to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar where the woman was declared brought dead by the doctors. As the condition of the man was too critical, he was shifted to AIIMS where he succumbed to his injuries.

The car has been seized by the police and the driver has been detained.
