Rishabh Pant Moving to RCB? Cricketer’s Bold Response Leaves Fans Buzzing!

The retention rules for IPL 2025 are expected to be announced this week. According to reports, teams will be allowed to retain five players, but the Right to Match (RTM) option will not be available this time. There is growing speculation about how teams will retain their core players, as this rule would force franchises to release the majority of their squad.

Amidst the buzz, a viral social media post claimed that Rishabh Pant had approached Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) through his manager, seeking a captaincy role. The post alleged that Pant’s request was rejected by RCB due to former captain Virat Kohli’s reported objections, citing Pant’s “political tactics” within the Indian team and Delhi Capitals.

However, Rishabh Pant was quick to address the rumours, labelling them as false. He posted a statement on social media: “Fake news . Why do you guys spread so much fake news on social media. Be sensible guys so bad . Don’t create untrustworthy environment for no reason. It’s not the first time and won’t be last but I had to put this out .please always re check with your so called sources.”

Pant urged people to stop spreading misinformation and emphasised the increasing spread of fake news on social media, adding that it wasn’t the first time, but he felt compelled to speak out.
