JMM’s Champai Soren Takes Oath as Jharkhand CM

Ranchi: Champai Soren, who is the leader of the JMM’s legislature party took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on Friday.

He took charge as the new CM of the state two days after Hemant Soren’s resignation as the CM and his arrest by the ED in a money laundering case.

Along with Champai Soren, Congress’ Alamgir Alam and Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Satyanand Bhogta also took oath as ministers in the Jharkhand cabinet.

Champai Soren will have to prove his majority of the floor of the Jharkhand Assembly in 10 days.

Champai Soren has claimed to be having the support of as many as 43 MLAs in the 81-member house.
