JP Nadda Appointed Leader of House in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: BJP national president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda has been appointed as the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, replacing Piyush Goyal.

Nadda, who assumed office earlier this month, also oversees the Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministry. Despite his ministerial responsibilities, Nadda is expected to retain his role as BJP’s national president, a position he has held since 2020, succeeding Amit Shah.

Nadda’s political journey began in 1975 during the Bihar Movement, where he emerged as a prominent activist. He later joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and held key roles in student politics.

Elected to the Rajya Sabha from Himachal Pradesh in 2012, Nadda’s influence within the BJP grew significantly, culminating in his current dual role in governance and party leadership.

Subsequently, he became a member of the BJP’s parliamentary board in 2014 under the leadership of Amit Shah, the current Union Home Minister.
