Kejriwal Released from Jail on Interim Bail, To Start Campaigning for Polls

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal was released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Friday evening after spending almost seven weeks behind bars after being arrested in the alleged liquor policy scam and hours. The Supreme Court has granted him bail till June 1.

Kejriwal is slated to address a press conference at the AAP party office at 1 pm on Saturday. After that, he will hold two roadshows — one in South Delhi at 4 pm and another in East Delhi at 6 pm — to campaign for the AAP candidates.

Kejriwal will now campaign for the AAP, and the INDIA bloc, especially in Delhi’s seven seats that will vote on May 25.

Kejriwal was welcomed by hundreds of APP supporters, his wife Sunita Kejriwal and senior AAP leaders like Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, when he came out of the Tihar jail.

Bhardwaj said Arvind Kejriwal’s release will be a “gamechanger” in favour of the INDIA bloc.
