Kerala CM Orders CBI Inquiry Into Death of Vet University Student

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to recommend a CBI Inquiry into the death of JS Sidharthan, a student of the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, announced Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday. He made this announcement after meeting with Sidharthan’s family.

Sidharthan was earlier found hanging in his hostel bathroom in Wayanad.

Kerala Governor suspended the Vice-Chancellor of the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on Saturday in connection with the death of this student on the campus.

The deceased, JS Sidharthan was a second-year degree student at the Veterinary University in Wayanad. On February 18, he was found hanging inside the college hostel. His family alleged that it was a case of murder.

The Kerala police have arrested 11 people in the case. They are alleged to be involved in ragging and torturing the 20-year-old student before his death.
