Khandapara Tehsildar Nabbed While Accepting Bribe by Vigilance

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials arrested Tahasildar of Khandapara, Nayagarh district, Dhobei Nayak, and another man named Prasanna Kumar Sahoo for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant on Tuesday night.

Sahoo was caught red-handed while he was accepting a bribe worth Rs 20,000 from the complainant to release his seized sand-laden Hyva (truck) at the instructions of the tehsildar.

The entire marked up bribe amount was seized from Sahoo’s possession.

Following the trap, the vigilance department has initiated concurrent searches at three of Nayak’s locations under suspicion of possessing disproportionate assets (DA). A case has been lodged against Nayak.
