Landlord Killed by Tenant in Dhenkanal District

Dhenkanal: The owner of a house, Rohit Pradhan, was allegedly murdered by his tenant following a dispute over vacating the rented accommodation at Bausapal village under Kamakhyanagar police station in Dhenkanal district.

According to reports, the accused Nira Bhutia had taken Rohit’s house on rent around a year back. Nira was staying there along with his wife.

The landlord was pressing Nira to vacate his house, which had led to a tussle between the two. Nira got agitated when Rohit asked him to vacate the house immediately and in a fit of rage he allegedly hit Rohit with a wooden plank. Rohit died on the spot.

Police have arrested the accused tenant and he is being interrogated.
