Live Streaming of CHSE Board Exam Centers This Year for More Transparency

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School and Mass Education department has decided to have live streaming of the CHSE +2 board examinations from this year in a bid to make the exams transparent and cheating-free.

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has directed principals of Higher Secondary institutions to furnish status report on installation of CCTV cameras in their respective examination centres by December 15.

As per the decision, live streaming links will be provided to the Mass Education department and the CHSE for monitoring. The exam hubs will keep watch on the conduct of exams at group of centres.

In the letter to the principals, the CHSE Controller of Examination said, “In view of the conduct of the Annual H.S. Examination, 2024 in a smooth and transparent manner, it is mandatory on the part of all H.S. Schools affiliated to CHSE to record the proceedings of the strong room (of EMHs), Centre Superintendent office, examination halls/rooms and all laboratories (in case of Self-financing H.S. Schools) in CCTV. In addition to this, live streaming of all these events is to be made to enable the officials at CHSE, S&ME Department, district Collectorate concerned to monitor each and every activity.”

The CHSE has directed the principals, to install CCTV (if not installed) in the examination room/EMH Strong Room/CS Room/laboratories by December 15. The functioning of already installed CCTV cameras with correct date and time has to be enusred. Camera must be tested and kept in readiness so that they can be used on the day of receipt of question papers in the strong room and from the first day of examination. The HS Schools which have applied for new examination centre must ensure CCTV installed in their examination halls and centre superintendent room.

Further, the principals have been requested to provide the college name, college code, name of internet provider with speed, DVR/NVR make, DVR/NVR serial number, user name and password in the SAMS e-space, and update the CCTV status in link provided in the SAMS e-space by December 15, 2023.

The CHSE warned to take appropriate action against the colleges failing to install CCTV systems and comply with all the above directions by December 15.
