Man Sets Ablaze His Son & Family in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: A man set fire to his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson while they were sleeping in their house in Thrissur district on Wednesday night. Family dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the crime.

According to police sources, the accused Johnson allegedly poured petrol inside the room in which his son, daughter-in-law and their child were sleeping. Then he set them on fire.

This incident occurred at Chirakakode under Mannuthy police station limits. The injured were 38-year-old Joji, his wife Liji (33) and their 12-year-old son. All of them were admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam in critical condition. Joji and his son suffered 90 per cent burns. Liji suffered 50 per cent burns.

The accused Johnson also suffered burn injuries and is admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur.
