Man Smuggling 1Kg Gold in Rectum Arrested at Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: A man smuggling around 1Kg gold into India by hiding it inside his rectum was arrested by the officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

Acting on intelligence reports, the DRI sleuths rounded up the passenger when he arrived from Bangkok at the BPIA in Bhubaneswar.

The officials extracted the gold from three capsules hidden in the passenger’s rectum.

According to reports, although the scanners installed at the BPIA could not trace the gold, the accused confessed about it to the DRI officials during interrogation.

The DRI officials reportedly took the passenger to a lavatory at the airport and retrieved the capsules containing gold from his rectum.

They gold retrieved from his rectum was seized and the accused was arrested.
