Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave conditions prevailed in Odisha on Wednesday as 13 places in the state recorded temperatures above 32°C at 8.30 am.
Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district recorded the highest temperature of 34.8°C, with Talcher and Balasore close second at 34.4°C. At that time Bhubaneswar recorded 33.4°C.

The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has forecasted that the maximum temperature may cross 45°C in several parts of the state in the next two to three days.
