Murder Accused Escapes from Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital

Sundargarh: A murder accused under trial prisoner reportedly fled from the Sundargarh district headquarters hospital on the wee hours of Monday. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The fugitive has been identified as Arjun Munda. According to police sources, he was undergoing treatment following a minor operation.

He was admitted to the hospital on Friday. Munda is accused of a murder in the Bhasma police station area of Sundargarh district.

At around 2 am on Monday, he managed to dodge the guarding policemen and fled from the prisoner ward of the hospital.

The jail authorities have lodged a complaint regarding his escape at the Sundargarh Town Police station. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the escaped prisoner.
