Odisha Govt to Open Cold Storages in 58 Sub-Divisions in The State

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government would open cold storages in 58 sub-divisions across the state, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday. He declared this during his meeting with different farmers’ organisations in Krishi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

Deputy chief minister and Agriculture minister KV Singhdeo and principal secretary, Agriculture department Arabinda Padhee were present during the meeting.

Majhi said, to eradicate loss of farmers due to lack of proper storage for the agricultural produce, the government as a first step has decided to open one cold storage in each sub-division of the state.

He also added that the state government is preparing a policy for prosperity of the farmers to help them from cultivation to marketing of their produce.

The representatives of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Gram Vikas Parishad and other farmer’s organisations attended the meeting.
