Odisha Starts to Shiver as Mercury Drops Below 10 Degrees in Several Places

Bhubaneswar: Night temperature dropped below ten degrees in several places on Tuesday. Kandhamal district’s G Udaygiri was recorded as the coldest place in Odisha on Tuesday with a minimum temperature of 7.2 degrees.

Keonjhar and Kirei in Sundargarh experienced a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees, while it was 9.5 degrees at Daringibadi.

Some other places, which experienced winter chill on Tuesday included Phulbani (10 degrees), Angul (10.6 degrees), Sundargarh (11 degrees), Koraput (11.2 degrees) and Rourkela (11.3 degrees).

Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum night temperatures of 14.5 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

According to the IMD forecast for Odisha, the dry and cold weather conditions will continue for the next four to five days with no major change in night temperature.

Shallow to Moderate fog is very likely to occur in the morning at one or two places in districts of interior Odisha.
