One Lakh Teachers to Participate in ‘Mahasamavesh’ in Bhubaneswar on Sept 26

Bhubaneswar: The agitating primary teachers on Wednesday announced to intensify their ongoing stir through a ‘Mahasamavesh’ meeting in front of the Odisha Assembly on September 26, 2023.

According to the leaders of the teachers’ associations, around one lakh teachers from all parts of Odisha will take part in this huge protest rally in Bhubaneswar.

According to Primary Teachers’ Association president, Bramhanand Moharana, nine associations have decided to continue with the cease-work agitation in front of the block education officers’ offices.

The agitating teachers are demanding the abolition of the contractual recruitment of teachers, a hike in their grade pay, and restoration of the old pension scheme.

The primary school teachers have been on the path of agitation since September 8.
