PM Modi Launches ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana’: 1 Cr Homes to Get Rooftop Solar Power

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a new government initiative, the ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana,’ aimed at generating electricity through solar energy. The announcement came after his participation in the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Taking to social media, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that the people of India should have their own solar rooftop systems, emphasizing the connection between the energy of Lord Shri Ram and solar power.

Upon his return, PM Modi shared that the first decision he made was to launch the ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana,’ targeting the installation of rooftop solar on one crore houses. The initiative aims not only to reduce electricity bills for the poor and middle class but also to enhance India’s self-reliance in the energy sector.

The Prime Minister, in pictures posted on social media, discussed the scheme with officials following his return from Ayodhya.

Earlier in the day, he presided over the ‘pran pratistha’ ceremony of the Ram temple, attended by dignitaries including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Judiciary of India for resolving the long-standing dispute, emphasizing the just means through which the temple was constructed. He thanked the entire nation for participating in processions and cleanliness campaigns in temples, stating that India is poised for development, and the country will continue to reach new heights.
