Police SI Caught Redhanded While Taking Bribe in Jajpur

Jajpur: A police Sub-Inspector (SI) of Police posted at Binjharpur police station in Jajpur district, Keshab Chandra Dash, was caught redhanded by the officials of the Odisha Vigilance while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 at his Government residence.

The erring cop had demanded this bribe from a complainant to provide him a postmortem report and help him get an accidental claim for the death of his father.

The entire marked-up bribe money was recovered and seized from the possession of the accused police officer.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations related to the SI from DA angle.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance registered a case U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
