Prajwal Revanna’s Brother Suraj Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault on JDS Worker, Sent to 14 Day Judicial Custody

Bengaluru: Janata Dal (Secular) MLC Suraj Revanna, who happens to be the brother of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who was arrested last month in sex assault cases, was sent to 14 days in judicial custody by a magistrate court on Sunday, in connection with a sexual assault case filed by a party worker.

Suraj Revanna was arrested on Sunday in Hassan.

A JDS party worker had filed an FIR against the JD(S) MLC on Saturday alleging that he was sexually assaulted by him at his farmhouse on June 16.

However, Suraj Revanna denied the allegation and alleged that the man had filed a false complaint in an attempt to extort Rs 5 crore from him. He had filed a complaint in this regard on Friday, a day before sexual assault case was filed by the man.

The JD(S) worker in his complaint alleged that Suraj Revanna had invited him to his farmhouse on June 16, where he forcefully kissed him and bit his lips and cheeks.

The complainant had further alleged that Suraj threatened to kill him if he didn’t cooperate.

The Holenarasipura police registered a case against Suraj Revanna under Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 506 (criminal intimidation). Suraj Revanna’s brother, Prajwal, is in jail in connection with separate sexual assault cases. Several videos purportedly featuring him sexually harassing multiple women have emerged. He was arrested by SIT officials upon his return from Germany on May 31.

Prajwal Revanna’s father, HD Revanna, was also arrested in May in connection with cases of sexual harassment and kidnapping. He was granted bail.
