Prashant Kishor to Float Political Party on Oct 2, Eyes 2025 Bihar Assembly Polls

Patna: On Gandhi Jayanti this year, poll consultant-turned-politician Prashant Kishor will transform his Jan Suraaj campaign into a political party with an aim to contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls.

This was decided at a seminar and interaction of the organization in Patna on Sunday. This meet was attended by Kishor and other activists linked to the campaign.

At the end of the seminar, Kishor declared that the Jan Suraaj campaign will become a political party on October 2. It will be known as the Jan Suraaj Party and will contest all 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections.

Kishor said that his proposed political party will provide adequate representation to people from all sections of society as per their population, in its organisational structure and distribution of Assembly tickets.

According to him, at least one woman candidate would be fielded from one Assembly seat in a particular Lok Sabha constituency.

A committee has been formed to formulate the new party’s constitution. Efforts have also been undertaken to strengthen the Jan Suraaj organisation at booth, panchayat, block and district levels in Bihar.
