Pune Teen Driving Porsche Kills 2 IT Profesionals on Bike, His Father Arrested

Pune: Police have arrested the father of a 17-year-old boy who allegedly crushed two IITians to death by the Porsche car driven by him in Maharashtra’s Pune city. , an official said on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the teen was drunk at the time he caused the accident. After consuming liquor at a bar, he knocked down two bike riders in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune on in the early hours of Sunday.

Police registered a case against the youngster’s father, a real estate developer, under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act, as well as against the owners and staff members of the bar that served liquor to this underage person.

According to the FIR lodged in connection with the incident, the man, despite knowing his son did not have a valid driving license, gave him the car, thus endangering the latter’s life, and allowed him to party even as the father knew that he consumes liquor.

The two deceased were Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, both 24-year-old IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh. The teenager was subsequently produced before the Juvenile Justice Board which granted him bail.

A case has been registered against the youngster under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
