Sensex, Nifty Hit Record Highs for 5th Consecutive Day

Mumbai: The stock markets continued their record-breaking streak for the fifth day on Thursday, driven by robust buying in major stocks like HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries. The BSE Sensex rose by 126.21 points (0.15%) to a new lifetime high of 81,867.55, after touching an intraday peak of 82,129.49, up by 388.15 points (0.47%).

Similarly, the NSE Nifty surged 59.75 points (0.24%) to close at an all-time high of 25,010.90. During the day, it climbed to 25,078.30, marking the first time it crossed the 25,000 mark with a rise of 127.15 points (0.50%).

Key gainers among Sensex constituents included Power Grid, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Nestle India, Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki, and Reliance Industries. Conversely, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, SBI, Larsen & Toubro, and Tata Motors saw declines.

In commodity markets, Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, increased by 0.98% to USD 81.63 per barrel.

On the previous day, the Sensex had climbed 285.94 points (0.35%) to close at 81,741.34, while the Nifty had gained 93.85 points (0.38%) to settle at 24,951.15, both setting all-time highs.
