Six Kanwariyas Run Over by Speeding SUV in WB’s Darjeeling

Kolkata: Six Kanwariyas died in Bagdogra in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district on Monday morning when they were hit by a speeding SUV.

The victims were on their way to a Shiva temple on the last Monday of the month of Shravan.

After the accident, the speeding vehicle overturned and fell into the adjacent canal. The passengers travelling in it were injured.

As per reports, the dead Kanwariyas were travelling to the Jangli Baba temple, to perform their water-pouring rituals.

The accident-causing SUV was travelling towards Sikkim. Its driver lost control and the vehicle hit the six pilgrims one after another. All of them died on the spot.
