Strike by Odisha Private Bus Owners Deferred Till Oct 31

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association decided to defer its proposed state-wide strike till October 31.

The association put its proposed strike on hold following its discussions with the state government.

According to the association, they decided to postpone their bus strike as the state government has agreed to look into their their demands.

The Private Bus Owners’ Association had given the strike call to protest against the State government’s Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme to run buses from panchayats to blocks, blocks to district headquarters and from districts to the state capital.

The association also expressed willingness to run the buses under the LAccMI scheme.
