Teen Stabbed to Death by Friend in Ganjam District

Berhampur: A minor was stabbed to death by his friend, over past enmity at Kairasi village under Khallikote police station limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Tuesday evening. The assailant was also a minor.

The deceased was identified as Rajesh Das of Kairasi village. According to police sources, Rajesh faced the attack by the assailant while he was on his way to the market to buy medicines for his ailing mother. The accused, also a minor, attacked Rajesh with a knife and fled from the spot.

The victim was rushed to the nearby Khallikote Community Health Centre (CHC) where he succumbed to the injuries.

The victim and the assailant were classmates and they quarrelled at a cricket match a few days back. This murder is suspected to be because of this dispute. The accused has been nabbed by the police.
