TMC Worker Murdered Hours Before Polling

Kolkata: In West Bengal, where incidents of violence were reported in the previous rounds of voting, a Trinamool Congress worker was killed in a crude bomb attack ahead of the fourth phase of polling.

The murder took place in the Bolpur Lok Sabha constituency, mere hours before polling was scheduled to begin, reported India Today.

Quoting police sources, Hindustan Times reported, the victim, identified as Mintu Sheikh (42), was returning home around 8:30pm on Sunday when goons attacked him. Bombs were hurled at the victim who was hacked to death. Two persons have been arrested in relation to the incident and an investigation is going on.
