Donald Trump Shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks Was A Registered Republican But Donated To Democrats

Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been named as the suspect in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the FBI on Sunday.

Crooks was the ‘subject involved’ in the incident during a Republican rally in Butler, where he was shot dead by US Secret Service agents.

State voter records indicate that Crooks was a registered Republican, leaving the motive for his actions unclear. However, he made a $15 donation to the Progressive Turnout Project via ActBlue, a Democratic donation platform, on January 20, 2021, the day Biden was sworn in.

Tragically, a bystander lost their life in the shooting, and two others were critically injured, as reported by the US Secret Service.

The incident occurred while Trump was addressing supporters at the rally. Amid the chaos, gunfire erupted, causing the former president to duck for cover before being swiftly escorted off-stage by security personnel. Trump later reported blood on his face, claiming a bullet grazed the upper part of his right ear.

Despite the distressing circumstances, Trump was seen raising his fist in defiance as he was hurried to a waiting vehicle, with supporters cheering in the background.
