Two Army Jawans Injured in Gunfight With Terrorists in J&K

Srinagar: Two personnel of the Army were injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

The encounter between security forces and terrorists happened on Monday evening, during a search operation in a forest area of the district.

A joint team of the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had surrounded the Broh and Soom forest belts in the Kalakote area on Monday after getting information about the presence of suspected terrorists in the area.

The terrorists fired at the troops to escape, resulting in retaliatory fire. In the gun battle, two army personnel were injured.

An intense search operation is on to nab the two terrorists believed to be inside the jungle area surrounded by security personnel.
