With Over 1 Lakh NOTA Votes Counted by Noon, Indore Set to Make New Record

Indore: A huge number of voters in the Indore Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh have cast their votes for NOTA, which crossed the one lakh mark by 12 noon on Tuesday.

After about six rounds of counting today, the NOTA votes at Indore had crossed the one lakh mark, which is a record of NOTA in the Lok Sabha polls nationally.

These voters seem to be frustrated by the political activities in the area. The Congress candidate from Indore, Akshay Kanti Bamb, withdrew his nomination on the last day of withdrawal of nominations and then joined the BJP. So, it was a practical walk-over for the sitting Lok Sabha Member of the BJP, Shankar Lalwani in Indore.

Since then, Congress urged voters to cast the maximum number of votes in the NOTA (None Of The Above) option.
